CMB - MEL/SYD/ADL rtn for $1500 AUD would be better suited for most than going to CAI or CMN......

It's definitely an amazing price for longhaul J in/out of Australia :D although clifford's example to CAI is a much better sc earner (AUD $1.63 per sc).

Where do you get such fare? Is that Y/J/F?

Must admit I didn't see this either, in Business class. I must have been asleep at the wheel (or something).

But it would be the best fare this century if in bus, I think...

Just a shame positioning isn't particularly easy

It's not particularly difficult either... As an example, one stop via KUL on D7/AK for AUD $579 ex MEL at the moment (can of course be found cheaper when on special). People here wet their pants about sc runs ex USA to central America, but each to their own. AUD $1.63 per sc ex CMB (the previously mentioned fare to CAI) is much more appealing to me. Would rather avoid the US :p

Also if you book a positioning flight to CMB in Y (which can be relative inexpensive) on UL you can bid for an upgrade to J which rebooks into I class if successful and UL offer FF credit into the rebooked class for upgrades rather than original booking class - so you'll earn Business SC's and points if the upgrade is successful.

Yes. Using Google Flights check example of dates in link:

Out 09 Oct
Back 18 Oct

Usd992 rt in J, from Qatar

Ok, I think I am pretty good with google flights, but I am getting nothing, so obviously I am doing something stupid. Even doing it as a multi comes in at USD$2714 for those dates. Any chance you could link so I can see what the hell I am doing wrong??
