Crowne Plaza Vienna were happy to clear out there automatic minibar, to allow us to use it for our own stuff.
nothing is faster than the speed of light in a vacuum. But in other mediums the speed of light varies. No doubt the speed of a minibar charge is much like Cherenkov radiation. Has anyone seen a blue glow from their automatic minibars?

Einstein apparently asserted that nothing is faster than the speed of light. The charges imposed by automatic mini-bars regularly challenge this assertion with their speed.

Cherenkov radiation, also known as Vavilov–Cherenkov radiation,[SUP][a][/SUP] is electromagnetic radiation emitted when a charged particle (such as an electron) passes through a dielectric medium at a speed greater than the phase velocity of light in that medium
