hello AFF need some help with reward booking

I am trying to book some tickets.

eg. SYD - NAN (Y class) it is 35,600 points return but they are also asking for 39,600 for the taxes and surcharges?

I remember you normally pay for this component with money, i can't see an option to pay with money?

Is there anyway to pay 35,600 only and pay the tax and airline surcharges with cash?

Did you go through the whole process up to where you enter your credit card ??

On the final payment page you should see a slider bar that you can move to reduce the points and increase the cash

This is great advice, I remember how we panicked before proceeding to the payment page when redeeming points + pay. It is a little ambiguous at the start.....
