The correct acronym is "DYKWIA". It would be a shame if DYNWIA became commonplace as, for me, the "DYK" part perfectly sums up what the whole thing is about.![]()

They didnt enforce the lavatory rule.
But in some circumstances pax should be able to use it. Kids. Trolley in the way maybe. Maybe they should have pin codes to open them. At least she couldn't get to her bags.

Sad downgrade in VA service. I had a couple of experiences early on of crew refusing to let me as platinum to use empty space in the J overheads. In one case putting my bag down around row 16, the other removing my bag from that little bit of locker that is over row 3, but extended from J locker space.
When I travel in J I almost always board last (have never understood why everyone is so eager to spend the max amount of time cooped up in a plane - even in J)
So it sh_ts me when the overhead J lockers are full. In any case, I have always been able to accommodate my single carryon in J - even if it requires me to offload some other people's stuff. :/
medhead, not sure I understand this - do you mean as a "platinum" travelling in Y there is some right to use J locker space?
My understanding is that it can be used as an overflow for Y pax luggage as long as the J pax have space for their luggage first. I haven't read anywhere that status plays a role in the avaliability or utilisation of the J cabin overhead bins.

Seems to me to be happening more on Qantas too of late - particularly as a number of its aircraft no longer have any type of visible and physical barrier between the classes (I'm not very familiar with VA yet so don't know if there's any barrier?)
If I was the FA I would have sent her bags as far down the back as I could!
Flew BNE to SYD today, when I got to the gate the priority boarding line was at least as long if not longer than the normal lane. The agent made several comments to people that they shouldn't be in the lane and even made a comment to me about the fact that several people where using the lane that shouldn't be. However still let them all board, I suppose it's a tough call to send people back out to the back of the normal boarding line, but if you don't enforce the rules you can't really expect them to stick.
Airlines give status-Y passengers access to the J lounge and J boarding, so it's no wonder status-Y passengers think they can use the J toilets.
