So on 18 January 2017, I am flying CBR-MEL-SIN-CMB vv

the CBR-MEL-SIN flights is on Qantas and the rest is with Emirates with the exception of MEL-CBR which is with Qantas.

The booking was made with Flight Centre and is fully paid. I haven't been issued with a ticket yet as I won't be travelling for 6 months.

Anyway I find out now Emirates is stopping all flights between Singapore and Colombo vice versa and my booking on Qantas (through frequent flyer) now shows me terminating my travel in Singapore (CBR-MEL-SIN vv).

So what happens now? I am guessing Flight Centre has to find an alternative way to get me to Colombo since I have already paid my flight?

Totally frustrating when an airline pulls out of a route like this! Emirates will have a reaccommodation policy about whether alternative airlines will be permitted, or if it will just be a full refund. Flight Centre will facilitate the re booking, if allowed, or alternatives.

We're the flights on EK or QF flight numbers? If QF, you'll probably have some more options.

Did Flight Centre tell you why it hasn't been ticketed? Normally an e-ticket should be generated within a day or two max, even for travel up to a year away.

Tell me about it! Well was told by flightcentre when I booked it was a Emirates ticket. But jump onto Qantas and my reservation shows QF 35 MEL-SIN and then EK 404 SIN-MEL. So short answer I have no idea???

Well my reservation is showing up on Qantas.com. so I guess the ticket has already been issued?

If not ticketed I don't think reaccommodation policies apply. If not ticketed straight away then the fare probably isn't ultra cheap, therefore flight centre may be able to reaccomodate you on Sri Lankan for similar price (which QF codeshare on). Although if you're on EK 405 from MEL @1900 this may involve a layover at Changi, or move to QF35 earlier in the day.

Could be either with that combination! Go to checkmytrip.com and enter the Qantas booking reference from your FF profile. At the top near the agency details, you should hopefully see a ticket number and you'll be able to work out if it is Qantas (081) or Emirates (176)

Flight Centre uses Galileo. You should have been given a 6 character booking reference by Flight Centre which you can use at http://viewtrip.com which will be more accurate than viewing it on the Qantas website as the originating GDS does not always send all segments to all carriers.

If not ticketed yeah its basically money back from Flight Centre. The airline hasn't been paid so under no obligation to do anything.

Not necessarily.

Correct...
Only need a reservation not a ticket to appear at qantas.com

So update from my end. Visited flight centre today. The young flight centre guy was very helpful actually. He looked up the flight on his system and as per my expectations no availability was showing for the EK flight SIN-CMB vv. So he then rang Emirates and according to them, the flight is confirmed and is going ahead. But he agreed with me something was odd and he would keep an eye on it for me. He also confirmed that the ticket has already been issued by Emirates and told me not to worry as Emirates is now legally obligated to find alternatives for me and my family should the flights be cancelled. So now we wait...

I just hope now Emirates doesn't force me to fly SIN-CMB via DXB as it just adds unnecessary time and becomes more difficult with a one year old. I won't be happy.

According to airlineroute the flight is closed for reservations after 6 Jan: Emirates Closes Colombo – Singapore Reservation from Jan 2017 :: Routesonline

Section 9 of the Conditions of Carriage outlines your choice of three remedies in the event EK cancels a flight: http://cdn.ek.aero/au/english/images/english_final10may2012_tcm276-194795.pdf

That is a likely scenario.

If EK options are unaccepotable get refund and go direct via UL

If the ticket has been issued then ask FC to send it to you.
Cynical me says FC not entirely transparent about this.....
