I was having a play with dates and found November with EY for a similar price for 400 VA SCs.

Found another similar fare to CDG from KUL. The trouble is getting out of Australia to get to KUL in J for less than that price on OneWorld or Star Alliance.

Thank you for posting OP; Just booked via QR site for a dab over AUD$2k pp. Already positioned in SIN, so a good saving for minimal effort.
