Hi everyone
I'm after your thoughts and suggestions on my situation. Later this year, I'll be flying from Aus to LHR arriving LHR on CX255 (QF reward - J), and then onto Reykjavik on BA800 (BA revenue - Y).
CX255 is scheduled to arrive at 6:20 am at T3 (and seems to be fairly on time based on the flight stats I've looked at), and BA800 is scheduled to depart at 11:20 am at T5. Given the one world changes, I now have to recheck bags at LHR.
1) I'm considering asking CX to move me to the earlier CX251 when I check in from Aus. I'm not expecting them to be flexible, but has anyone ever had any success with CX when on a QFF award flight?
2) What do you estimate the time from landing to getting through immigration and customs at T3 given I'll be in J? I've read mixed reviews about the fast track immigration line v normal immigration line...
3) When I last flew to LHR on QF they didn't provide arrival immigration forms inflight. Is this the same with CX (or did I just not get an arrival card onboard for some reason)?
4) In terms of terminal transfers, considering taking the heathrow express from T3 to T5 unless anyone knows a quicker way?
5) As far I've looked, there's no (paid or unpaid) bag re-tag service at LHR for transit passengers?
6) How likely do you think I am to make the transfer (I think it's 'easily' do able, but I'll still be stressing either way
). 5 hours seems enough even for LHR.
Sorry for all the questions - looking forward to responses. Thanks so much
