Apart from the one in the J-class lounge on the A380s. It's self serve - but none-the-less there.

To call that space a bar is bit misleading. Many airlines have self-serve areas in J but only EK, KE, QR have proper bars on their A380s and VA, VS on B777s.

Something Qantas do have in Y, is a small self-serve section for soft-drinks and snacks. I honestly quite like that.

(For hundreds of passengers? Ain't gonna happen for so many reasons.)
Doofus that I am - just ignore me and carry on flying :o

I think they're saying that they do already have that. QF Y has a small self serve snack bar down the back of Y.

As well they set up self serve snack areas at each Y galley with fruit, cheese, chocolate and soft drinks.

More a seat than a bar I'd suggest.
EY, QR, EK...now those are bars...

Yes I suppose - but it is an area were people meet and drink. At least I have a few times. And they do (mostly) set it up with snacks and some drinks - including wines. And you can order other things from the crew.

We popped up to the lounge when we did F in June and a J FA popped a head in to let us know that he was happy to get us anything we needed...
