Not sure if you're aware, but QR offer free transit accommodation where your connection is over 8 hours (and you could not have booked a shorter connection). Transit accommodation

Although in reality this is quite hard to get, as there is often an earlier connection that you could theoretically have taken (even if at higher cost). I know this from personal experience.

Thanks to this thread, I picked up 2 SIN-DOHx-OSL-DOH-MEL for just under AUD2.5k each in J.

Side note:
For a single passenger with the VISA code, the price was around AUD2.6k IIRC.
Also can go even cheaper by doing open jaw SIN-DOHx-OSL, HEL-DOHx-MEL for around AUD2.3k IIRC.

Missed out on DPS-BOS return in J for $850! Was posted on FT and within 20min, the error fare got shut down!

Thank you, picked up KL-Doha-Berlin-Doha-Melbourne in J for just under 4.5k Aus, in May for 2 people. Longish wait in Doha, but for the price I can live with that.

I can't believe I missed this deal. $2500 for J class from KUL to Europe and returning direct to Australia for $2600 per person all in QR Business Class. Even when you factor in a cheap positioning flight to KUL it is a bargain. I could of come back with the A350 Business class to ADL. Oh well. Well done to those that got in on the deal.
