Hi all,

I have recently soft landed from Platinum to gold in March 17, which lasts until March 18. I have 293 status credits, which will start expiring in June. if I earn 107+ SCs prior to June 17, will that re qualify me to Gold until March 19? I will be over 400 SCs, but not at my review date. This may be the AA rules, the VA terms and conditions didn't help my brain either.

Screen shot attached to help clarify my poor explanation.

Thanks in advance!

No, you need to earn 400 SC from 07 March to 07 March 2018

This is it, sadly no you will need to earn 400 credits in the 12mths until your review date.

When working out my re-qualification requirements I find it easier just to ignore your total balance completely, and focus only on what is listed in the 'Maintain [Insert Status Here]' section. So in your case it's 400SC and 4 sectors regardless of what is currently showing in your balance.

Hope that clears things up a bit!!

Well that's nice and straight forward, even if it's not the news I wanted. So it sounds like any status credits earned during a year where you drop a level are totally useless and best sent via a family pool.

Cheers

I wouldn't say totally - depends if you have a reasonable shot of accumulating enough to go back up right?? Or maybe I'm wrong here??

I have a similar question but with respect to an upgrade from gold to plat:

  • I am currently in a Pilot Gold period (13 Feb - 13 May 2017).
  • Only needed to earn 80 SCs in that period to retain Gold for a further 12 months, but have overachieved and am already at 165, and will likely be around 250 by 13 May. I want to try to get to platinum.
  • Can these SCs earned during this pilot gold period form part of my attempt to reach platinum by 13 May 2018? Or are they wasted and will my account reset to zero on 14 May?

Thanks!

IIRC they are wasted as far as SG requal is concerned, but to achieve WP you need 1000 in any rolling 12 month period so they should still count as long as you have the requisite sectors.
