I made a booking at Hilton in the US a while back but since then I noticed that the prices have dropped quite significantly.

Can I cancel my booking and book the same room again, or is there any better way of doing it? Book first and then cancel the old one?
I cant seem to find a cancel booking on my HH booking page.

Is it a refundable booking? If it is its easy to make a new booking and cancel the old one. But if its non-refundable you'd be out of luck.

This. Done it many a time with cancelable rates. I've tended to cancel the original booking first and then make the new one, but the above really does make much more sense.

No, it was a fully refundable booking. Funny thing was, that if I booked it through the AUS website it was non refundable, but when I called the call centre, I got exactly the same but refundable.

Anyway, I managed to make a change in my booking, same room, same dates but saved myself $200 over three nights. And it is still a fully refundable rate. Quite happy with that.
Thanks for the help tho :)
