Staying overnight on the boat at Luxor dock before the next two nights in a hotel at Luxor. Decided a stroll to the Winter Palace Hotel (an old King Farouk hangout) was in order on a mild evening after dinner aboard. Can't go into the hotel because I have shorts on (will probably return tomorrow for sunset appropriately dressed). Margarita providing company...

Not sure if you are walkers-we walked to Provesende from Pinhao-bit of a long hike but great scenery. Other day we did the Royal tour-some great views

Many thanks. My wife is trying to talk me into this one at the moment so I'll send her the link. Any more pics will be appreciated (trip report, even more so). Early next year she's off to Italy for a walking tour (I'm not invited as it's a "ladies" group ... how sexist and antiquated is that) and she also wants to walk the Great Ocean Road. That last one I really can't understand. Why walk when you can drive ... the Italian one I can almost understand, just in case too many vineyards are passed en-route!

So pretty unpleasant there at the moment? As well as the haze is there a smoke smell? I would imagine so.Hope they can get them under control soon.

We're just over the six month mark and just short of half way. We get back to Australia on May 1st. I think I will throw my luggage away I will be so sick of seeing it!

Beautiful blue sky in St Ives yesterday but a tad windy and quite a few white caps - wasn't as bad as they were forecasting a few days ago but I think Ireland got the brunt of it
