I finally received a response from CX ...... and it virtually confirms there has been a change.

We endeavour to partner with selected airlines as part of the Oneworld programme with the intention of offering the best value-adds to our esteemed passengers. This helps us in providing quality service and convenience across more than 1,000 destinations worldwide.

Please allow me to explain that redemption of mileage for reward flights is subject to capacity control, which may limit the number of seats available for reward flights. In this regard, every airline partnership has its own terms and conditions. Cathay Pacific Airways and its partner airlines do review the percentage of seats made available for reward flights from time to time. I would like to thank you for your feedback and assure you that your comments have been passed on to the relevant department for review.

Thank you once again for writing to us. We look forward to welcoming you on board one of our flights again soon.

Yes that reads like an "enhancement" :(

It’s hard to say. On one hand this response could be written by any FF program of any hotel or airline in the world in response to lack of availability. On the other it might be an indication that they reviewed availability.

But has anyone noticed if things are actually back to the original normal or are we now experiencing a new normal?

Can someone explain why Cathay reward seats for June /July 2019 don't show properly on QF website lately ? I have seen some note about changes with the Asia miles program but cant find the thread. Seems like after about mid June 2019 there is now very limited availability ? Seems like system isn't working properly ?

If you're going oz to HK then what is there is it but if you're going oz to Europe then you'll mostly get QF EK or MH so if you want to go via HK then you need to book multi city & they'll open up into Europe.
