I'm in the middle of plotting out my xONEx trip for the year. Trying to pick somewhere in Europe.

I've narrowed it down to the following:
Warsaw
Copenhagen
Prague
Vienna
Venice
All places I haven't been to before.
Ultimately, the flight schedules might decide it for me, but what would people suggest?

Prague, then Vienna, then Venice.

If Vienna, then take a boat or train side trip to Bratislava :)

How long have you got, and are you staying in the one city?
I only have experience of Venice & Prague of that lot, and enjoyed time in both. However, I think there’s more to look at & keep one entertained in Prague, and Prague doesn’t seem as polarising (I felt Venice was historically & romantically magical; others feel it’s old & smelly & crowded). Also, with Venice you do need to check whether the timing of your hols matches the timing of their now-regular flooding, IMHO.

It's been a long time since I have been there but VIE is getting a lot of attention as a place to go at the moment.

What do you want to get out of your visit? Each city is quite different.

Personally I would choose Vienna. But Prague and Copenhagen would also be nice.

I would probably go PRG or VIE, both fantastic cities and maybe if the stopover is long enough, you could visit both

The pick of that list for me is definitely Prague - such an amazing city and so much to offer. Make sure you stop over for a few days or you will be disappointed. An easy city to walk around and if you love history and architecture this city is a must see. Budapest is my favourite city followed by Prague. The others are interesting but not in the same league.

Depends what time of year. Venice in March, yes. Venice in July, no. Vienna has some great stuff, but the smoking in restaurants is a turn off for those who don't smoke. Prague we found a bit too touristy-staying outside of the stag party area would be advisable.

Warsaw
Copenhagen
Prague
Vienna
Venice
Bearing in mind our European travel is mainly ,on purpose , in winter
Warsaw was quite confronting I found. Still very much a grey city (went about 4 or 5 years ago )
Copenhagen havnt been
Prague is just beautiful. Found it to be quite amazing. However:) when we arrived off the train we were totally lost and eveyone ignored us. Finally one kind person took pity on us and said because we had suitcases and spoke English people thought we were gypsies
Vienna. Stayed at the Marriot in ring. Beautiful city so so different in culture and architectural.
Venice havnt been

However have no doubt whichever one/s you pick they will be amazing
Have to say it would be hard to pick but if only one.....Probable Prague or Vienna

As others have said, it does depend on what you want to see
Warsaw - on my list
Copenhagen - lovely city - Tivoli gardens
Prague - interesting to walk around and some wonderful architecture
Vienna - beautiful and easy to get around, clean and safe
Venice - if you haven't been then this would be my choice but as someone else said not in July. I went just after Christmas a couple of years ago and it was still packed and couldn't imagine what it would be like in the heat. Get a 3 day vaparetto pass and just walk. Beautiful

Depends what time of year.

I don't get a lot of time for holidays, so have to fit a lot in in a short period.
I normally try to fit in 1-2 stops in Europe each year with 3-10 days.
This trip, with when certain things fall at other stopovers, I'll only be able to fit in one stop with 3-4 days, depending on flight schedules.

It would be mid-late Oct.

This is where I've had prior stopovers in Europe (+ other smaller cities in the Netherlands).

Then I'd got for Venice or Vienna - just my preferences

Prague for me. Probably my favourite city in Europe. I do love Vienna but I find it far more expensive than many other European cities

I went to Venice in October a few years ago and cannot recommend. Overrun with tourists and the weather wasn't that great anyway.

I went in March and it was great. Mists very atmospheric. Busy in the tourist trap areas, but stay just outside (eg St Elena, Dorsoduro) and you'll be fine.

Prague first choice then Venice. Prague is easiest all year round while Venice should be ok for October.
