More great photos & a very interesting trip. Also gave me a bit of an insight to life in some of those country areas

Being travelling myself, I have just caught up with last few pages. As others have said, a very interesting TR. Your photos certainly make it look like an interesting place to visit. Thanks for the effort.

Thanks @OZDUCK as you know it does take some effort but it's worth it and nice to share with like minded folk. Hope all is well at your end.

"Craven",

on AFF I usually just pop in to the site for a few minutes each day. But every so often there is a TR that grabs me, so I wait until when I can truly enjoy it in a leisurely fashion. Have just caught up with the final phase of this TR. And I really really enjoyed it. Rather than post individual "likes' on posts or photos, (as every single one merited it) let me say again that the whole bloody thing was really well done, fun, informing, and above all, inspiring to someone who loves travel. Thank you mate :)

Many thanks for your kind words @juddles makes the effort all worth while.

Hello Craven.

This was a good report.
I was looking at things to do between Durban and JNB soon, and came across the Sani Pass. Thi sounded familiar and thought I had read about it in your report possibly, so I just went back and skimmed through it.

I was wondering if you or anyone had any guidance on where to hire a simple four wheel drive that would get me up there, and that I can drop back in JNB? (That is not hugely expensive!) I am always trying to do things on a budget... haha.

Avis/Budget etc do not seem to have much other than a full size SUV whatever that is, that seems a bit expensive.

I was thinking of something like a Hilux ute or similar or even an SUV but a lot of them seem to be pretty small two wheel drives these days.

Thanks any way and it was a good read.

I get to Emerald occasionally myself, but mostly only for a night or so. Nice spot.
