Wife needs 5 more SCs to achieve platinum and her next flight in 2 weeks is a double status run with first leg 30 SC and second leg 60 SCs. Does it click over after the first leg and 25 orphaned or after the second leg and 85 orphaned.
Velocity flights work on the date of the actual flight.just finished a flight today to get 5 SC short. Next one is on saturday but weirdly the 2 legs are on different days even though the same ticketing ie one arrives late at night next leg the next morning(overnight in a hotel)
I do not know if the system has been set to automatically upgrade when within 10sc of platinum or if it is manually done but would check your account the day after the points post.just finished a flight today to get 5 SC short. I am certain it is not automatic, but I think it may trigger a manual review when close to the target. Best way to go is not to expect it but to treat it as a bonus if it happens.I do not know if the system has been set to automatically upgrade when within 10sc of platinum or if it is manually done but would check your account the day after the points post.
I don't think it is either as I have had the opposite where I had sc post after one dropped off but still had the 1000sc in a 12 month period to earn platinum but required me to call to have them apply the upgrade. Lucky for me I was not flying for a few months so due to past experience waited till I needed it before I called.I am certain it is not automatic, but I think it may trigger a manual review when close to the target. That's pretty dishonest on Velocity's part.
It's because reviews of status have histroically been done on a daily basis.
Not really different to, say, Qantas where everything on the last day of your year applies to that year.
Benefit Period: 12 months starting on the day your membership level is upgraded, maintained or downgraded (whichever happened most recently). Your Benefit Period restarts each time an upgrade, maintain or downgrade event happens.

Your Status level is assessed daily based on your Status Credits and Eligible Sector balances to determine if you’re eligible to upgrade your Status level.

That previous 365 days includes the legs you took on the day of the upgrade (except leap years (this year)). A normal rolling year would be today and the 364 days that preceded it.
And as it clearly states your 12 month period starts on the day that your membership is updated, there's no way to spin it that it doesn't include legs taken that day. If it didn't, you would end up with a 364 day benefit period -- just short of 12 months.
See that's nonsense and makes no sense unless Velocity SCs are deposited the day of the flight every time. That's not something that Velocity does often.
I will have taken 37 flights to achieve platinum, and I've only ever had points post the same day once. I've had 4 flights taken over 3 days all post the next week on the same day. If that was the day my status event was triggered, would that have meant the other flights, while taken on different days would have been forfeited?
The problem with that is that there's too much open for interpretation. The terms are unclear and contestable.
