I've got a 100% points bonus offer from IHG which I put to use yesterday. Managed to get 3 nights at IC Hayman island for $850 dollars using some points I had plus 61000 I bought plus the 61000 free ones.
Worst part is the transfers to/from is $210 pp each way ie same price as the accom

Launch. Helicopter is around $395pp each way, similar price for sea plane

Ouch. That is quite a rip-off. Its not like its a long journey, assuming flying into HTI. I was considering a short stay at IC Hayman, but the transfer cost has reduced that probability somewhat.

yes, understandable. The whole place is a bit of a rip-off when you consider a standard basic room is just under $1000 per by night. If it wasn’t for the fact that I got three nights on points I wouldn’t be going. That’s transferring from Hamilton Island, I don’t know what it would be from the mainland. I’ve got four nights at the beach club on Hamilton Island prior to the stay.
I don’t know whether you have considered Hamilton Island instead but the beach club is a very good option on that island,

Yes, I am sure there are many better value options. I'd be interested to hear your views on the relative value of both locations upon return.
