This is a SQ a380 currently in the sky! Fantastic to see an a380 in the air and I wish I was near syd to see it land

I wonder why Singapore Airlines need an A380 in Sydney? (Unless it's refuelling there before being sent to the scrapyard?)

About to land at Syd...

Interestingly, or perhaps not, SQ8896 did SIN-ASP on the airframe 9V-SKL then continued on to SYD using airframe 9V-SKQ. So who knows, rotating craft around storage? Or What Mattg suggested, but SKL is the older of the two (by around a year).

Musical chairs? In fact, it makes sense from what I've just read that SKQ, being the younger aircraft, will be refurbished instead of being sent to the scrapyard...
