Were you intending to visit Geiranger on a cruise or stay at the hotel? We didn't actually get to Geiranger, purely due to there always being too much to see and too little time to visit all the desired places.

I know it says no car parks - but I don't even see the cars in this beautiful mountain scene - Prince Hotel East Shiga Kogen, February 2020. it was very cold.

Hi AFF family - keeping the dreams alive!
I am adding my all time favorite hotel and experience.
….Fairmont Le Montreaux Palace where I stayed during the Montreaux musical festival. Spectacular view over Lake Gevena and the all important Stravinski Auditorium where you never know who will turn up after midnight when the musos jam!! This hotel and the festival I really want to go to again.PS most of the concerts around town are free.

Yes. From memory we opted for a 1 bedroom air conditioned 3 star category boat-great time & some very interesting villages along the backwaters

At first glance, you'd say the view is nothing special. Accommodation very basic. In fact it was BYO! Then you look up. Karijini national park. It was pitch black. The trees were lit up with a torch for the pictures.

Oh that is just beautiful. We have a booking for Feb 2023 in Niseko, and will also go to Shiga Kogen and/or Nozawa Onsen on the same trip.
