VA2 to Further Unbundle?

As one of the riff raff that flies at the back, everything will come down to price. Domestic flights I can handle without the extras especially for flights upto 2 hrs. International flights I just want extra leg room as long as all things are the same as previous flights. If I can preorder meal, still get a drink, watch a movie just with more leg room, will do me fine. It will be interesting if they offer all in one bundle or mix and match bundle. Will it only be offered within 48hrs of flight as they should have good idea of flight load and status numbers. Could passengers use points to pay for bundle/extras. Very interesting times ahead.

VAi Short Haul and VAd could probably follow a similar bundling package for Economy to LCC's Scoot.

Fly (Carry-on only), FlyBag (Seat + Bag) and FlyBagEat (Seat + Bag + Complimentary 'meal').

A similar FlyBagEat bundled package could be enabled for VAi flights and longer VAd flights (over 2.5 hours - e.g East Coast TransCons and introduced into other longer (but possibly thin) routes - e.g SYD/MEL-DRW or BNE-HBA).

In same vein just did another poll with VA on the type of discounts people want.

They had forced choice high / low ranking of:

- 2 for 1
- buy 3 tickets get one free
- 25% off
- 35% off
- free Ola transfer
- buy airfare get hotel voucher
- buy airfare get experience voucher
- % off kids fares

I ranked the % off’s highest and the Ola fares the lowest!

I did think it might have been to do with the PR ‘scandal’ departure that was big news up here in little old Brisbane I thought maybe they didn’t want people gossiping about that in the group!
