Just got denied entry into Delta Sky Club at LAX terminal 2 as Velocity Gold. Flying domestic. They said rules *just* changed to only admit those flying International. Is this now a thing? I thought everything was still A-OK for a couple of months.

Must be part of an international itinerary.

Wouldn't have said *just* changed, but they have changed

There have been some changes to Lounge access eligibility when flying with Delta.
Effective 1 September 2021, domestic lounge access within the USA is only available to Platinum and Gold members in conjunction with an International same day journey, where both flight sectors are booked on a single ticket. Lounge access is not available where a member is holding a domestic flight and an international flight on separate tickets.

Well what do ya know! I’ve flown a bunch of times between Sep 1 and now and never had an issue til today. Maybe they’ve just updated the rules in their system. I think that’s what the agent meant actually…

anytime things are being withdrawn, i dare say something would be brewing.

I have booked a return flight in April through the Velocity website using points. (DL40 / DL41).

The Delta website for the trip itinerary shows the following:
SKY PRIORITY (Faster Checkin / Baggage / Boarding)
Contains a link to Sky Club locations for SYD and LAX

I assume this means benefits are still in place for international bookings despite the United tie up?

Yes, it looks like 13th June is the cut-off: United Airlines new Virgin Australia / Velocity Partner
