Hello - I have booked a VA redemption using VS miles. The VS PNR doesn’t work on the Virgin Australia website (to select seats) so I was wondering if there was a hack (like using rj.com if you have a mixed BA/AA itinerary) to avoid me having to deal with the hot mess that is Virgin Atlantic customer services. Virgin Australia couldn’t tell me what the mystery PNR was.

VA staff should be able to find your VA PNR using the Virgin Atlantic ticket number (13 digits, starts with 932).

You could try and see if the VS reference will load on trip case or check my trip?

You'll need to call VS to get the VA record locator as VS uses Deltamatic.

I loaded a Qatar booking with VA in check my trip and it then gave me the VA PNR and I was able to use that to select seats.

Definitely can be done this way. I had forgotten that trick.
