I expect I will hit Velocity Gold Status soon. I currently have 440 status credits and have a few upcoming flights.

According to the app, my review date is 12 July and I have requalified for silver (which I got back in 2019 and they kept extending it over covid). As I understand it however, the Virgin status is calculated on a rolling 12 month basis. In my case, of the 440 status credits, 30 were earned in Dec 2021 then all the rest have been earned since Feb 2022 so none are going to drop off for a while.

But what I don’t understand is when I hit gold, how long does that last for? I don’t expect I will requalify if the earning rates go back to normal.

Is it 12 months from when I hit gold? Until
I have less than 500 points?

With Qantas as I understand it you have status until the end of your membership year and then the 12 months afterwards.

When you hit Gold, you will then be able to keep it for 12 months. The review date for you will be set to 12 months from attaining gold.

The rolling counter will continue as you march toward platinum

Once you first attain, based on a rolling 12 months, you get it for 12 months from that first date and then it works exactly like Qantas with 12 months to requalify based on the date you first hit 500.

NB - I haven't qualified like that for years so i may have missed something

It lasts for 365 days from the date you qualify plus your review month.
