Hello,

Based on the travel I had booked this year, I was planning on earning my 50 status credit loyalty bonus (for flying 500 status credits with QF/JQ) at the end of October. The thinking being that since my program year ends on November 30, I could then apply my status bonus in December for the new program year to give me a head start on status for program year 2022/2023. However, earlier this week JQ cancelled my nonstop from PER to SYD and I was forced to take a connecting flight (via MEL). Consequently, I ended up with 510 status credits from JQ/QF flights after that trip instead of the 490 planned.

Reading the T&Cs of the Loyalty Bonus it says that I have 90 days from when I took the flight that qualified me for the loyalty bonus to select my offer of either extra status credits or frequent flyer miles. Based on my rudimentary calculation, 90 days from September 5 is December 4. Hence, would I be able to select the status credit offer on December 1 and have it apply to the new program year? In other words, is it safe for me to select this offer on December 1, the start of the new program year or should I wait a few days for QF's systems to refresh?

Thanks in advance,

With the loyalty bonuses it’s usually a bit more than 90 days that you get to select as they round it up until the end of the month that the 90 days falls into (so in your case, you should be able to select the loyalty bonus right up until Dec 31).

Yep you're definitely all good, select on 1/12 and they'll be applied to December.

I have also done it Pre-COVID and it definitely worked. Just put a reminder in your calendar to do it as once I totally forgot about it and the bonus lapsed
