Another beautiful day in Lausanne,

Today’s spring office is Djidi-Djiji Ridge nature reserve in Chittering Valley.

I’m new at inserting photos, so apologise for repeats in first series.
It was wonderful to find one spider orchid, much less several in with the (yellow) Featherflower. There are pea flowers in several colours, (white) common clematis and (white, fluffy) honeybush. And, of course, Blue Leschenaultia. We also disturbed a mob of kangaroos, which took off stage right!

First day on the slopes looked promising.

But was grey by the time we arrived. Still very good spring skiing conditions.

The drive back to town offered great views of ZQN.



Our hotel is a short walk along the lake, about five minutes from town.

Along the way you pass a small terrace with what could be the best BBQ location in New Zealand. BYO gas.

There’s work happening on the mountain behind our accommodation and only one way to get equipment in and out.



On the road to the Remarkables we saw NZ depart…

…and enjoyed the view back toward another office we will visit on this trip, Coronet Peak.
