Evening All. Has anyone had any recent experiences with connecting through SIN with a fairly tight connection time?

I am flying from DPS to SIN then onto LHR. It is the same ticket. SQ. The connection time is 50 minutes. I understand that is right on MCT for SQ. How are baggage transfers going recently? The flight is many months away but any recent experiences are welcome.

if you were able to book a flight with a transit time of 50 min, then the MCT must be around that. I don't think it will be any shorter

Changi is very efficient airport.
And as you are with the one airline, you are protected if the inbound is delayed. Also SQ operates 4 SIN-LHR a day so they can easily slot you onto another flight if necessary. They will also deploy golf buggies to facilitate transfers between gates.

50 minutes is actually quite a long time at somewhere like SIN! Doesn’t take that long to walk between aircraft.

Your bags should be tagged with something like ‘short connection’ on a red tag, so handlers will know to get it on its way. SIN is well versed at doing these connections.

Thanks QuickStatus and Mel_Traveller. I have done the transit through SIN pre pandemic and it was a seamless experience. But post COVID it is good to know it remains as seamless as ever. You are right Quickstatus there is another LHR flight about 2 hours after my one so if there is a delay I imagine I will just go over to that (hopefully not downgraded!).

Still same same :)

So far in 2023, that can't always be taken for granted, flights are often full or close to full.

Having said that concur with others, 50 mins shouldn't be a problem, and assuming you are on SQ945 that seems to have a reasonable on time performance. Note though SQ 945 tonight arrived at T2, so would need to high tail on the skytrain to T3 (but it did arrive 17 mins early). Last night it arrived in T3, so it does vary. But the LHR flights last night and tonight both departed from low A gates (as do many A380 flights), which are just across from the skytrain.

Whilst security is necessary before you board the LHR flight, unlike many airports you don't have to go through central security along with everyone else, just at the gate with those departing with you. This makes these tight connections do-able. It's just like a domestic-domestic connection with the extra step of security at the gate.
