Just seeing if there is a way to make a single booking with 2 rooms that are not the same? I'm trying to book a twin room and king room but the online booking keeps saying 'Your rooms will all be the same'. I want to keep the one booking reference so the hotel knows they are together. Is this possible?

Yep - Definitely doable, but only where there is inventory of more than one room type on the night(s) you need. Perhaps that is the issue?

I just used a PC browser to do a check at the Sofitel Sydney DH, and you select first the number of rooms, and adults per room, and then at the view with the room types, you have the choice of selecting from a drop-down how many rooms of a given room type and rate you want. You could select - for example - a king flexible, and a twin promo rate, both on the same. They are added to the booking on the right of the screen that you then proceed with.

Cheers,
Matt.
Thanks. I was trying on the app. I'll give the website a go

Definitely possible when booked via the website.

I booked two different room types for an upcoming trip a King (for my parents) and another room with 2 Queens (for my sister and I) without any issues.

Cheers, I'll give it a try on the website tonight

App suffers with multi room bookings for mixed guests too - if you want 1 adult and 1 child in first room, app has to keep same for additional rooms.
Website allows mixing guest types.
