Points and Status points

Just planning my run to Platinum status and asking:
I know the points are based on the bill total but are the status points also on the bill total or just the accommodation total.

I was using the status points calculator this morning and had the information close to hand.
Status points can be earned for services during the stay like breakfast, bar, restaurant, mini bar and spa. The overview and handy calculator is here.
Detailed overview on what earns points is in the T&Cs here at 7.2.2.

See the post above but be aware that some properties in the group have really poor earnings.
Mantra and Peppers for instance only earn 40% and Ibis earn 50%.
There is a even lower group that has chains like Joe & Joe that only earns 20% and Ibis budget earns nothing

Yes thanks, I'll be at Swissotel so thats one of the higher ones which is why I want to maximise my points total

Status points should match the base rewards points. They have basically the same inclusions/exclusions.

Not necessarily, my stay at the Swissotel next week is $1387. As a gold i'll get 3156 rewards points but only 2133 status points

Correct because you don’t get Tier bonus on status points.
Reward points carry a status bonus

Which will post as 2133 base earn for the stay and 1,023 Accelerator: Gold. As I said the base points will be the same.

Sorry I thought you meant the base and the status points would be the same
