Have you ever had problems with the person sitting behind you on a flight.

About a decade a ago, i flew on Thai Airways to Bangkok. For some reason the person behind me kept hitting the back of my seat. For a long flight it got very annoying.
Has that happened to anyone else flying? I find it strange as arent the seats far enough apart that your knees wouldnt touch the seat in front of you. Has anyone else had a bad experience such as the person behind you being a complete pain.

I find that in most economy seats that my knees are touching the seat in front. Generally the worst problem I have is people pulling my seat when they stand up.

Its only a problem if the person behind you is kicking you seat but you are in First Class

Many years ago, with two kids behind, maybe 9/10. I, and the older lady sitting beside me were being jolted often as they hit the screens, kicked the back of our chairs, and grabbed the top and then let go.

After 10 mins I turned around, kneeled in my seat and told them over the top of my seat, looking directly at them, very pointedly to stop (citing older lady next to me). They did. Not sure where the parents were, but I suspect they were cowering somewhere over the aisle.

Nothing really bad but I've had my fair share of feet coming up beside my window seat and the sidewall, constant re-adjustment of knees into the back of the seat, badly behaved children kicking the seat and people grabbing the back of the seat when standing up. If any of those things are consistent my petty side comes out and I'll go full recline for the entire flight.

Not behind me but last week had a pax in front of me on a domestic flight in Vietnam stretch right out and dangle his hands over the back of his seat so far that it touched my phone multiple times when I was holding it. I was pretty aghast.

Agree. Pulling it back then suddenly letting it go again.

I hope I might be excused for telling a story which strictly doesn't belong here, but probably no-where else either.

I was in a J flight in the USA, 2-abreast. Young lady sitting next to me, suddenly started doing what I thought at first was sign language, but didn't seem to be - her arms went up and down and hands operating independently, all fairly vigorously. Might have been practicing some sort of signing, but nothing I've ever seen.

Not really disturbing me, but impossible to ignore - someone waving their hands around in seat next to you. After a few minutes I took a few obvious glances over to her and she suddenly stopped, possibly embarrassed. We chatted later but the subject didn't come up

I still have no idea what it was.

Those seats are very narrow with very little personal space. I really struggle to get out of an airline seat without holding the seat in front but try to use it to help me get up without yanking on the seat.

Oh and I'm not even close to being as tall as you and my knees are touching seat in front.

Had an issue years ago travelling long haul in whY, night time flight seat in front fully reclined, (fair enough),so was mine. I got tapped on the shoulder and woken, by a very petite elderly lady sitting behind me, saying it’s terribly cramped, could I place my seat more upright. I politely replied that I was at least twice her size and the situation was uncomfortable for everyone. Needless to say I didn’t change the seat position.

It was the person in front of us and short answer, we moved right after take off but there was pax flight rage about hour 10 into the long haul.

The long answer is:
I think this was the last Y flight we ever took (joined AFF soon after, been flying J every since except for one flight) and took our seats and the person in front just seemed off to me. In the few mins were seated, she stood up, down, up, down, walked around, sat, up, sat again and I said to hubby I cant handle 14hrs of her so I was going to move if I could. Doors closed and I spied 3 empty seats about 4 rows behind us. Yes, near the galley and toilet but the idea of the toilet and galley curtain being moved annoyed me less than this person.

About hour 10 and it was on between this woman and the old guy in front of her. He yelled that he politely asked her to stop kicking his seat at numerous times and had reached his limit. There was yelling, fingers pointing, both spouses also up and yelling, SQ FAs came running from all directions.

About 30mins later I saw the mans wife waiting for the toilet and I asked if she and her husband was OK. I told her that I moved away from the woman after take off as she had red flags that she was going to be annoying. Apparently she was putting her feet on the back of his chair and pushing and every time she got up, she would leverage herself on the back of his chair. I think the wife appreciated hearing me saying something and it wasn't just her husband/her that was annoyed by her.

this is a tricky one because so often the touch control on the TVs is pretty much useless.

Recently had one of those serial "routinely stand up and get something from the overhead locker" types. Every 10-15 mins for about 2 hours. She was seated 3 rows back but her stuff was above me on the aisle. Open/close/sit down/stand up/open/close. Drove me nuts. Eventually the woman in the opposite aisle told her to just take her "friggin" bag and put it under the seat in front of her "like a normal person".
Surprisingly she did. I don't know if she had a pet cat in there or something but it was just weird.

I did this during our LAX-SYD because my lap-toddler wouldn't sleep much. And those aisle J seats on QF do not have a lot of storage. I was up and down all the time, fishing out new books, toys, activity packs for the little guy
