Turkish Airlines Approved for More Flights into Australia

Bold move by TK to be attached to a mob who are always in the news for the wrong reasons
What wrong reasons? As opposed to EK being associated with Collingwood?

I'd almost suggest the reverse is true, TK and the Turkish government are not exactly the most virtuous.

I can’t recall Collingwood being forced to play games behind closed doors with no crowd and threatened to be kicked out of the comp

The issues are much more complicated than that, I'm no defender of violent thugs but I've experienced worse at Aussie rule games than Football. But anyway, in this case, it's a good sponsorship for TK, in my opinion.

Has anyone taken this flight, in particular, the SIN-MEL leg? I'm booked to take it in a few months.

We haven't travelled from Aus but have from Sin to Mad return in J. Meals were delicious, I found the crew, women, very helpful. Flat bed was a bit narrow for +1 but I thought was good. Didn't notice any announcements. As others have noted the new Ist anbul hub is huge and walking a klm or so at 1.00am is not the best way to go. I was offered a wheelchair (don't need) at the gate by an overly enthusiastic young man. However, the lounge and food - in the centre - was terrific. As with most things Turkish there seemed to be a dire lack of signage anywhere. Best to have a good look at the airport map.

TK is a member of Star Alliance or *A

There will be various threads here that will assist you. An Amex account would ve handy as well.
Yup got one, but I am wondering which program is the best to redeem Thai (MR- 2:1) or KF (MR- 3:1) or is there something else?

You'll need to check online. Do you have status with *A?

I would also look at EF for simple availability. The conversion is irrelevant if there is no inventory.

On TK I have bought Y and upgraded 24hrs out. There are a few options.

SIA is more expensive but generally has more availability than other programs.

Whats important to you, getting a seat or the best deal?
