Looks like Row 4 and certainly other so called.extra leg room seats are seeing a price rise on QF.

Qantas has announced that legroom charges will be increasing in 2 weeks time (April 18).

But the big move as a part of the change - Row 4 won't be selectable anymore at T-80 for many domestic flights as it will be classed as an extra legroom seat from 18 April. P1 and Chairman's Lounge members won't be charged for picking a Row 4 seat, but looks like anyone else might be...

Now that row 4 will cost, with the exception of triangle routes with lots of P1, my bet is they end up given for free to non-frequent fliers who check-in late.

Its now time to rethink my loyalty as a WP.... other than business/first lounges and the extra baggage allowances ( thats the next to go ) not much value left and maybe not worth the extra $$$$'s

Wouldn't this in theory not benefit P1/CL as anyone could pay for the seat now. Your average flyer will book generally earlier than your P1s unless its DSC season.

That being said, most exit row seats aren't booked on short haul legs so maybe they think there's biters at 3-4h distance?

Ho ho ho. more increased charges from "the Spirit of Australia". Gotta pay for those promised enhancements to the FF program somehow.

Ever since she was appointed CEO I said I’d give Vanessa Hudson a chance to show the organisation under get would not be as customer hostile and gouging as her predecessor.

As others have observed, she’s a 20 year product of Qantas and an Alan Joyce acolyte so I suppose I was silly to even hope.

As someone who isn't a P1, who lives in 4A/K when travelling in economy, and who watches T-80 religiously, this change is a really awful one to swallow.

I think this is a good benchmark to measure against. I can't think of any other that charges their own program members!

Surely this is the straw that breaks the camel's back for many WP/SGs. Aside from a nicer lounge, whats the real benefit of WG over SG/LTG?

I predict t24 will be the new t80. I can't see THAT many people paying for the privilege. T24 at OLCI it should be FFA
