Is Qantas Business Classic Reward Eligible for Points Upgrade to First Class?

Hi,

I just wanted to check this is normal or an abnormal experience for me.

I've recently booked a business classic reward flight from LAX to SYD.
The app and site both tell me I'm not eligible for a classic reward upgrade to first class.
The call centre advised of the same thing.

I'm obviously grateful for the lie flat seat but I changed my dates to secure this route to try and upgrade to first.

I'm platinum if that helps at all.

Is this the experience for everyone else? I apologise if already asked but I couldn't find an answer.

Thanks :)

That is correct. It is a specific exemption for upgrades from.Reward tickets - no J to F. Sorry.

It's great you got J as a CR :)
