Stupid question. Does the Guest of Honor Award need to be used at the time of booking or can it be added to an existing booking?

According to World Of Hyatt Guest Of Honor: How Does It Work? you'd need to call them to apply it to an existing booking, I also saw on reddit that some people had luck with using support chat.
