Just signed up for this card and fair to say the experience has been great so far. Very straight forward application process and the card was with me a few days later. For anyone with an ABN who might be struggling to be approved for a personal AMEX due to the well documented crackdown on churners, this looks an exceptional alternative.

Currently a very generous sign up bonus for this card of 170,000 velocity points. There’s also an additional 30,000 velocity points if registering for the current velocity promotion and applying before 30 April. Annual fee is only $249 which makes this almost unbeatable IMO. Note an 18 month AMEX exclusion period applies to be considered a new customer and eligible for this bonus.

Other features of the card are a pretty decent earn rate of 2pts per dollar spent with Virgin Australia, 1pt per dollar on everything else except government spend which earns 0.5pts per dollar. Also receive 2 complimentary passes to the Virgin Australia lounge. Complimentary travel insurance included as well if that is of use to you.

Here is my REFERRAL LINK noting that I will also receive 50,000 velocity points for successful applications.

Your friend will receive 170,000 bonus Velocity Points if they apply for an American Express® Velocity Business Card by 20 May 2025 via your referral link, are approved and spend $5,000 on eligible purchases in the first two months from Card approval date. Plus, they can join the Virgin Australia Business Flyer program within 2 months of Card approval to jump direct to Tier 2 and receive a complimentary 12-month Velocity Frequent Flyer Gold Membership if they meet the eligibility and minimum spend criteria. Both offers are available for new American Express Card Members only. T&Cs apply.

Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to use my referral link. Again, I receive 50,000 velocity points for each referral which will be put to good use on another family trip like the one just completed.

I haven't posted any referral in a long long time, so here goes.

If you have a business (ABN number) and register for GST (above 75k revenue or volunteer to register anyway if under 75k)
Annual fee $249. One of the most generous sign up bonus for any frequent flyer of 170,000 points plus an additional 30,000 velocity points if registering for the current velocity promotion and applying before 30 April.
18 month AMEX exclusion period applies to be considered a new customer and eligible for this bonus.

Here is my referral link. I will receive 50,000 for any successful application, so thank you in advance.

Just wanted to give an update on how this card is going for me. I’ve had it for about 6 weeks now and just clicked over the $5k spend criteria for the bonus. Very impressed to see the 170k bonus points show up in the app immediately after I met this criteria. So no waiting several weeks like usually seems to happen with other direct QFF or VFF earning cards. The two free lounge passes were also automatically added to my Velocity account at the time the first statement was issued last week. Very smooth process with everything so far!

Hope this helps for anyone considering applying.

My referral link is in my quoted post and any use would be appreciated. Note that if you are considering other cards I can also refer to the Platinum Business Card (250k membership reward points + half price annual fee), Gold Business Card (100k membership reward points) & personal Velocity Platinum Card (100k velocity points) by navigating to the view all cards button towards the bottom of the page.
