I am interested in https://www.vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/warramunda-estate-single-vineyard-pinot-noir-2024/ . After broswe its offical website, the original PN called Estate, this one is Single Vineyard ($5 less than Estate, it is white label). There is not much review on this label. I am guessing this Single vineyard makes for Vinomofo or other similar retailer. $30 is the real price for this PN, although on website it says 55.

After consideration, I decide not to buy it.

I had similar feelings about this offering, despite a very impressive cabernet merlot that was doing the mof_ rounds about 18 months ago.

Well temptation is always there and I have succumbed being a weak human being. Half way there in my abstinance yesterday I Tom hanked a six pack of the 2016 Reschke Bos for $16.50 a bottle, free delivery included. I have only ever had one bottle of the Bos and it was exquisite from memory but it probably came from the first decade of the millenium. After my binge at the end of 2024 with shiraz only deals, the 7 out of 7 different 6pack deals were supurb indeed, but now I look forward to the King of the Grapes and hope my queen of the house will share a glass or three.

"King of the Grapes"? Sorry, beefarmer, but the Reschke Bos is not a pinot.

We all inhabit different taste worlds. I was with my great mate Peter who left us too early six years ago in a winery I think on the Bellarine. We were having a tasting, started with whites, then a rose then the young lass said would you like to try a Cabernet Sauvignon. Of Course. I then inquired whether she could tell me a bit about this wine to which she replied, It is one of our best made up of two grape varieties the cabernet and the sauvignon. Pete and I decided to let it ride till the very end but in a very nice manner we did inform her. Sure she blushed just like the rose.
Ethereal pinots like shirazes, pinots and Cabs are just that. Ethereal. I had a Mermerus Pinot Noir 2021 in 2022 and that something incredible. There are only two types of wines, good and bad.

Got my $40 VIM Gold voucher to spend, whats been good lately? Towards the budget side of things at the moment, big cabernets a favorite or a big shoraz without to much pepper

I was hoping to get a more agitated response out of you, beefarmer. But you are entertaining, nevertheless! I'll confess my passion for Margaret River cabernets, evidenced by a tray of Cullen Diana Madeline 2002 cabernet merlot I have recently prised open - This wine is sublime experience after 20 years careful cellaring, and something you might rate "good". Sometimes you just have to spoil yourself and ignore the potential inheritance you might have left your offspring.

So I take it the Cullen might have edged the Mermerus into second by the sounds. I'd leave a case of some nice Gippsland pinot for the
offspring, the kids not the band, on my death bed but I'd make sure I'd knock off the 1996 Saltram Mamre Brook Cab first. As i look into my catalogues, this was my 2nd best wine between 1997 to 2004. A lot has changed since then i think and I haven't done a best 6 of all time either, but i have been doing a top six of the year since the inaugural 1997. In that first 6 year tranche, ironically a cab came in at 1,2,4 and 6. 3 was a 1997 brown brothers merlot and 5 was a rosetto 1998 chardonnay. Things were quite cheaper those days too.
