Wcmo - that not all places upload their medical reports to myGov. So another password /logon etc is needed for Spectrum. Hopefully GP will upload
It makes it so much easier to have all his various reports (he has loads ) all in one place

It's very interesting that when myHealthRecord "launched" some years ago, there was a fairly common undercurrent to opt out of the service, since the common fear was that the government was incapable of protecting the privacy of the data (it might have happened after a major data leak).

The standing opinion now is that it would be safe to opt in now?

Don't know if safer or not , however my husband has so many varied specialists and reports from different hospitals , again for many reasons, having them all in one place makes things much easier for his GP and us to know what is going on
Having one spot for everyone is so helpful . It would be much harder having to have all the documents hard copy (also not really feasible ) all his MRIs, ultrasounds , X rays , tests of other types

I have files I do not want available to all medicos. Just being cautious looking to the future having seen some older (much older) friends lose freedoms because of some words in a report.

100%. Not so much a hacking fear, but I opted out because every time I go to see a new doctor to get a second opinion, I want him not to be lazy or influenced and to start afresh and not just parrot what someone wrote before, whether earlier opinion right or wrong.

It's totally up to the provider as to whether they lodge online. I've had multiple scans, blood tests etc and only the blood tests, and only from a particular lab, are uploaded. When you've paid your money for an expensive scan it annoys the heck out of me that I have to go begging the drs to see the report. And the specialist always puts 'do not upload to my health' which thankfully the lab I go to completely ignores this and loads them up.

Ha ha, I guess so. In my case (sole trader, service provider) I was down to one client, on an excellent wicket, so paid in other ways to keep 'em happy.

So there's been discussion that unrealised capital gains will be taxed and super won't be exempt. Minefield.

It's totally nuts. The legislation didn't get through in the current parliament but Labor have said if they win they will try again.

Sweden and Germany tried it in the 1980s and it was repealed within 10 years.

Unrealised capital gains tax causes a huge liquidity problem because in order to pay the tax you have to sell the asset or part of it if you don't have the cash at hand. But how do you sell part of an asset that cannot be divided?. The admin will be huge as well.

Basically look at the purchase price of same property. Unfortunately, I think you will find the answer there.

I have tried several of the Tarquin gins and I’m trying to work out how I can do a tour because it’s not close to a bus stop and the nearest town for a taxi would be quite expensive. I’ve been to Cornwall several times before and it’s beautiful and it’s an absolute glorious day today.

So you're not well. Suspect you have Covid or know you have Covid. Go to Medical Centre without a mask, sit a metre away from doctor without a mask, nurse does antigen test and 2 lines confirm Covid.

It certainly takes a special kind of stupid. Doesn't matter what you think you know or how you feel. Wear a mask.
