Hi hive,

I am going to the US on 15th May for a week, but I was shell shocked when I tried to find a J ticket. For status reasons, I need to travel *A group. However, It is costing upwards of A$12500!:oops:.

(I have checked OW and I know that one can get a beauty with Cathay Pacific for less than $9000, but I need to stick to *A)

My question is:

- are the prices likely to come down in the coming days?
- Should I simply book the best Y class ticket and hope to upgrade (with $ or miles) closer to the flying date?

Thanks in advance for your kind advice.

Where are you flying from, to and what’s the return date?

You can fly ANA & UA SYD-HND-SFO-LAX for A$8800 on the 15th returning a week later.

I wouldn’t count on prices coming down, that’s already pretty close

I can see combos on ANA and United for under $9k around that time
