Strategy to obtain US Amex

Anyone had any success with a BofA checking account bonus?

The current bonus is $300 for direct deposits of greater than $2,000 within 90 days. I pushed an amount from Wise which has resulted in a bonus being credited, albeit of $228.

I haven’t had to submit a W8-BEN yet which is why I suspect they’ve withheld tax. Anyone else been in a similar position?

25% bonus to Avios from HSBC US if anyone's got a stash FYI, blew most of mine few months ago on Qsuite booking
What are the sweet spots benefits of using avios from Oz ,?

Did you open the account online from Oz ?

what are the average number of Qsuites available as rewards, been flying mostly to Asia and always have at least 4 J on SQ which is what we need.

really glad and grateful to have found AFF - just reading through the many posts in this thread affirmed that I'm not alone in some of my struggles.

I got my first AMEX US card via GT back in 2021. I recently got my ITIN and applied for the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant and Bonvoy Business with it. However, it seems like the ITIN isn't being applied with my existing credit file from 2021 - I confirmed this with the AMEX Live Chat and AMEX Credit Bureau Hotline.

I've also uploaded my ITIN issuance letter + a copy of my Passport via the AMEX Document Center. the AMEX Credit Bureau says that they will take 24 to 48 hours to process and one/two billing cycles for it to be reported to the Credit Bureau.

so my question is how is everyone linking their ITIN to their AMEX account and/or credit file? it seems like there's been a change in the way it is supposed to be done.

hoping to get the ITIN updated to the credit file so I can start my Chase journey (looking at CSP - actually already applied but they looked at my ITIN and said my credit file is too thin which made me realise that my ITIN hasn't been linked successfully to my credit file from 2021).

Saw this info burried earlier in this thread but thought I would update a DP for CAP1 360 chking account for benefit of others looking for some help

Applied for account online using US rental address
Used Tello number
Used Passpt number with 2 additonal numbers for SS
Completed app and then got screen to call in to provide more information for application
Called in and Rep sent link SMS to upload photo of passpt
Uploaded passpt photo
Rep approved and opened account while on phone
Got online access details emailed and just deposited some $ from Wise account
Updated mailing address to Anytime address

No previous credit history so now would be apply for Amex??

@mrblack could you share more about the "2 additional numbers for SS"

and how did you managed to get the OTP? I gave them my TextNow and T-Mobile numbers but they said they couldn't verify either against public records - which is odd considering I'm using these numbers for the Capital One Venture Rewards Card

I think it has to be a post paid number for it to work with Chase - not the prepaid MVO that most of us use. Have spoken to Chase about 6 times in last week and each time my Tello fails but they just ask you 2 generally questions that dont apply to you - I even had a rep call me back on my number to verify and then continue call
