Hi all,

We are flying Qantas F to JHB in October. This is our very first time flying F so we are very excited.

We currently have 2K and 3K reserved. No seats on the left hand side are free but 1-4K are free on the right hand side. I’m contemplating reserving 1K due to the privacy of the bulkhead and having no one infront. I’m conscious though of its proximity to the galley area and toilet. Does anyone have experience of this being bothersome?

Many thanks!

No personal experience but the galley area is at the rear of the first class cabin so there shouldn’t be any issues from that perspective.

Robbie Williams was in 2F when I was in 1A 😎
In this situation,I’d be taking 1K…

The overhead locker above row 1 is slightly smaller due to the fuselage. Still large enough to fit your carry on but row K will be sharing space with the pax in F seats. It’s annoying if you get one of those pax who insists on getting stuff in and out of their bags throughout the flight.

The biggest nuisance with row 1 on either side is the constant accessing of the cupboard/ wardrobe by the crew throughout the flight.
I now avoid it for that reason.
I would go 3K and 4K (row 4 has an extra window)

I never chose row 1 as the curtain movement at night and the flipping is a pain I found 5 a also annoying as they access a cupboard opposite

I like row 1 in F - I sleep with headphones so noise doesn't bother me, and I feel like I'm by myself. Easy access to the bathroom.
