Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Thanks, @Daver6 - If I'd need to hop in an Uber from the Novotel, then I'd rather just stay in town at a nicer property, I reckon :) My flight out of BNE is around midday, so I've got ample time to get back there in the morning; but as I'm not doing anything the morning of, I figured waking up where I needed to be might be handy.

I'll keep looking at Pullman BNE and see if availability shows up. That's more the root of my query, I guess; i.e. does StayNight availability at a given property fluctuate over time, like it might for a reward seat on an airline, or is it more fixed than this?

Cheers,
Matt.
I guess you could just book elsewhere with your Stayplus night and then cancel and move if one opens up. The problem being though, without a StayPlus night being available, it makes it difficult to see if there is availability of one! The StayPlus Paradox if you will :)

This where we can help each other.

I’ve booked a flex rate at a decent level and will most likely just pay using ALL rewards points if a StayPlus doesn’t eventuate

I have just had a strange experience with my Stay-plus night at Melbourne Airport Novotel. This was booked about 6 weeks in advance, and the confirmation email clearly shows a cost of zero.
However, when I tried to check in online, I was asked for a payment of $46! Assuming this was some kind of error I discontinued the online check in and later checked in at the hotel reception desk, where the agent assured that this was indeed an error and no further payment was required (I was also advised that I had been upgraded from a "Superior queen" room to a "Deluxe king").
When I went to check out in the morning (using the self check kiosk as the reception was unstaffed), I was again asked for the $46! I gave up trying to check out and later sent then a terse email asking for an explanation, to which they replied with a apology and promising to investigate.
Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

Yes I have.

Yes I have.

Interesting...had you been upgraded from what you had booked?

I have a random free breakfast coupon on my account page. Does anyone know if you have to be staying in the hotel to use it? The T+Cs doesn't mention it.

I've only got 1 stay booked before it expires and that's an Ibis solo stay, so not the best value ...
To answer my own question, my free voucher was happily accepted at Sona Twin Waters not staying as a guest!

Wondering if has had an experience like this going from paid to AMEX membership and if they had a resolution to this issue?

My Accor Plus expires tonight, my first year paid and then this next year (supposedly starting tomorrow) is through Amex Platinum.
Nobody at Accor has been able to tell me when the membership will renew, the website is still telling me that I expire tonight.
I've been through chats, phone calls, and this week emailing with the customer service exec.
I received confirmation from the Accor Amex team nearly two months ago that the Accor plus membership was confirmed, but nobody I can speak to at Accor can answer when it will be processed, the new year confirmed and the perks active.
I'm really shocked that over a few weeks that nobody at Accor can tell me what's going on with my account.
