We got an incredibly cheap rate on this hotel using a Z3R rate-$A80 a night. Not surprisingly then that there was no upgrade.Didn't help that the hotel was completely booked. However we got a room on the 4th floor.A nice and large enough room but 2 metro lines meet under the hotel and you could hear every train.Couldn't change as it was full-no rooms on SPG.com so that was right. However with our little helpers we got enough sleep.
Otherwise the stay was fine.Great location-shopping all around.Convenient obviously for transport.Lots of restaurants within a short walk.
the King bed was the typical 2 singles pushed together with single duvets-

The sitting area was large enough and overlooked the park-

The bathroom was fine-

I did post a report on FT about the train noise(and you could feel them as well) and today noted I received an extra 4000 starpoints-presumably as a result. So if I got the same rate I definitely would stay here again. If it was expensive then certainly I would consider 1 of the Hiltons-even as gold I would receive the same-no upgrade, free internet but also get a continental brekkie.
And before anyone says there are more hotels to consider I will admit I am a points junkie, nay addict but my experience is in general this pays off for me.

What are these Z3R rates you speaketh of?
A discount prepaid rate for 2-6 nights. Can be R(resort) or H(hotel)but seem interchangeable.More often R.They will not show automatically and you have to enter in the promo code box.If R doesn't work then try the H rate.
So a Z3R gives you the third night free,Z2R gives a 20% discount,Z6R-2 nights free.
Not always available.
