Hi guys,

Need to travel from HKG to BOM - last time around, I caught CX685 and this earned me 100 Status Credits

This time around, going on CX685 will cost a great deal more, and I have consented to travelling on CX709. I saw on the CX website that it has a stop in BKK.
I then saw that this flight appears to be for HKG to BKK as well as BKK to BOM.

Has anyone caught this flight from HKG through to BOM?
Can anyone confirm how many SC I should earn?
In theory, the difference is an extra 1hr 45mins and extra mileage - will that also get reflected in extra QFF points?

Or do I need to make a bigger effort to get onto CX701 or CX703 for the HKG to BKK leg, and then join CX709 for the BKK to BOM leg?

Appreciate any advice as I'm trying to get this all sorted quickly.

Cheers.

I know nothing specific about earning on CX. But the general rule for earning SC with qantas is to have different flight numbers.

You will need to either do a stopover in BKK or change flight number to get the benefit of the extra sc earning which is 140 versus 100.

Thank you. Thats what I was hoping to avoid - all the downside of a stopover (1hr20) with no upside of extra SCs. Hope the BKK J lounge is ok...

Will ask to change - hopefully that wont add extra to the cost.

Grr. Lousy travel agent stiffed us. Now they want more moolah for the same. Apparently they can't do the same price as yesterday - up by over $1k!!

I know this is not ideal, but you could always look at the DragonAir Flight to Bangalore as an alternative.

Also, though not yet OneWorld, Kingfisher J class is worth experiencing to BOM/DEL.
