Singapore Accommodation For Family of 5 (2 Adults + 3 Kids)...?

We are contemplating taking the family to Singapore next year, I myself have been to Singapore around a dozen times so I know the place fairly well. However since all my travel there has been business related, I am struggling to find suitable accommodation for our large family. Kids are all between 4yrs & 6yrs old.

So my question is has anybody here either taken such a family holiday or know someone who has and can give me some idea on suitable accommodation for a large family. Space is expensive in Singapore I know, but not really going to bunk the tribe in a <20sqm... :shock:

Will be staying for approx 1 week and have a budget of around SGD$3.5k (SGD$500/night) Will possibly be mid year peak season so this might be a struggle with my budget...!

Any ideas anybody...?

Hi Hubby & I want to do the same with our 3 kids ages 8, 14 & 17. Both of us have travelled extensively throughout Asia without kiddies.

We want to spend a couple of days in SIN then go onto HKG a few days there then onto CAN then back to HKG then home. So far all I can see that we will have to get 2 rooms, 1 for the older children and a triple room for the 8 year old & hubby & myself. I have looked at self contained holiday apartments in all places mentioned and it looks like they only rent on monthly basis.What does anyone think?

For Singapore have you looked at the Swissotel Kids Room special, works out to be around SGD$405 a night for both rooms:

A roll away should take care of the third child, and the extra bits and pieces should give you some peace, the hotel is very well located as well.

What about a serviced apt, we are staying in one of the somerset run apts (Liang Court), when we go next week, there are 4 of us and we are getting a 2 bedroom apt, I think they have 3 bedroom ones as well.

In my searching the serviced apts all wanted a one week min stay so if you are there for at least 7 nights you should be fine.

We managed to find one place that has serviced self contained apartments and will take booking less than 7 days - La residenza serviced suites at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront. We'll be staying there in September with our 2 kids.

I've used the Somerset Cairnhill on business and that is great - but minimum 7 night stay.

have used Somerset at Liang Court in 2010 for 4 of us, and quite good if the renovations have been completed, but they should have by now. great spot. very handy. we had a 2 bedder for 3 adults and 1 teenager with 2 bathrooms.
all great. pool good too.

I believe the best hotel for a family holiday in Singapore is the Merchant Court (Swisotel) on Clarke Quaay, the pool area is amazing and location excellent.

Got a quote for travel in peak season next year... SGD520 ++ per night, seems like a good option, room layouts look big which is always nice in Singapore..
