Folks,

Just looking at my travel calendar for the next 15 months and was wanting to hear from AFF members about phone apps they have found useful and why.

BTW I have a BB Torch 9800.

regards

Paul

The TripIt app. It's an awesome way of organising lengthy/complicated trips so that you know what you're doing and when.

I use WorldMate. It probably has rather similar features to TripIt. I find it helpful to have a list of what flights I've booked for various trips. It will also show you meetings during those trips, accommodation booked for the trips, car rentals, etc.

I hadn't seen WorldMate before, looks like it's the same sort of tool as TripIt (which I've found invaluable) so I might have to give it a go and compare the two.

I find MyFlights to be useful for domestic travel. Updates are limited to amedeaus only. I just enter my DJ flights manually and for domestic manually check for updates. Just noticed that for a mixed QJ/JQ booking it shows QF PNR and JQ PNR.

Also CheckMyTrip, but I rarely use it.

Got CheckMyTrip on both iPhone and BB, and the various airline apps, but find Triptracker (iPhone only?) quite good - once it is set up with FF /hotel accounts it automatically updates, reminds you etc.

Using a BB, have you checked out Blackberry Travel? I tried to sign-up and got as far as it detecting itineraries sent to my email, but I can't seem to set it up too well.

I'll check it out. Sounds good. I use a iphone so haven't used any BB apps.

Another app I use is Consume, not a travel app but awesome for tracking loyalty programs and a whole range of things.

I use FlightTrack Pro (FlightTrack Pro for iPhone - Live flight tracker with TripIt sync by Mobiata) with the Tripit plugin and it retrieves all my flight details from Tripit automatically. I forward my itineraries from our corporate travel agent to [email protected], and as well as flight info being retrieved by FlightTrack, I've got it set to publish a calendar feed which is picked up by Outlook on my work laptop and by Google Calendar on my Android phone and Apple laptop.

FlightTrack is similiar to the Tripit app in that it notifies you of any changes to flight departure/arrival times, gate changes etc. I find it really useful. I think it's Android/iOS only however.

The LiveATC app (Listen to Live ATC (Air Traffic Control) Communications | LiveATC.net) is pretty cool for entertainment value too.

Agreed though it does need to include a few more programs IMHO.

ps It's hopeless and frequently wrong for Telstra info.
