What sort of flying?

Like with the Average AFF Income thread, I'm curious to know how travel is funded. Do you pay for all your own flights, does someone else pay for them?

Can you put an extra line in for "Funded by frequent flyer points"??

I was thinking that frequent flyer points have had to be purchased in some way first. So if you only pay for flights using frequent flyer points, but all your frequent flyer points are due to business transactions then I would count that as business \ funded by 3rd party.

Started travelling "seriously" (ie.. enough to get/retain *G through my chosen FFP) in 97...

Until recently 100% self funded, and entirely recreational...

Was sponsored for one of 4 trips this year, and have won that sponsorship (World Championship sporting event) again for 2012.. so that helps a bit!!!:mrgreen:

Unless you are 100% owner of said company and then wouldn't you be 100% self funded?

Most of my flights are business travel paid for by clients. The personal travel is almost always done using FF points.

Unfortunately this mess I got myself into is fully self funded.

Haven't had a flight paid by a business for a long time....

All but 2 of my 24 international trips in the past 2 years have been paid for by the company I work for, and those 2 trips (1 to USA, 1 to Fiji) for me and my wife/family were made using points from the business related flights.

Given that the last 2 years has had me away from home for 120 nights each year, I have no guilt in using my points earned from business-related flights to spend on a holiday with my family!
