One of the comments on the AFF iPhone / iPad app download page was "If you can't afford a subscription then you most certainly can't afford to be a frequent flyer". Now this got me thinking, is being a frequent flyer limited to the rich? Especially with the advent of LCC's offering flights for less than a taxi ride to the airport, and considering there are many jobs which are either FIFO, or require a lot of travel to be completed, and yet these jobs don't nessacerily come with good pay.

So the question I have is roughly what sort of income do AFF members have? What range does your income fit in? I've posted this as a private poll, whilst feel free to discuss this poll and it's outcomes, I ask people not to post up details about their income. I'm curious as to the general percentages, not the specifics of any one member.

There should be the option "Could be earning more" or "Not earning enough for the rubbish I put up with";)

If you take out the "No Income" and "Retired" options then I am definitely not earning anywhere near enough to afford being a frequent flyer.

And frequent flying is not limited to the rich. I hardly ever eat out (in fact rarely), don't spend too much drinking out, hardly ever gamble and if I do I try to minimise loses and I save everything i can so I can fulfill my 2 passions. Golf and travel....

By chance were you separated from a brother at birth?

Interesting. Median (unverified) income of AFFers is $120K to $150K. No one here yet admits to earning >$1000K:lol:

I can't follow the logic of having a 'retired' category. What's that got to do with income?

I'm retired but I still have an income. Therefore I didn't check the 'retired' box, but another one slightly further up the list.

My passions are travelling and wining/dining both out & in - and a heavy exercise offset program!

The Retired category exists for people who no longer draw an income of any real description but instead are now living off savings with no intention of re-entering the workforce.
If of course you are retired, but still have an actual income which you consider an income tick which ever box is appropriate.

I still think the most interesting result is we have 5 who earn under $30K...
