Don't know you budget but HSW has 2 bedroom apartments. Sometimes reasonable pricing but often V expensive.

Thanks Straitman... HSW being...?

Hilton South Wharf Perhaps....? That being the case, its a no go for 2 + 3, Just checked and

There are no rooms available for **Feb 2012 - ** Feb 2012 at Hilton Melbourne South Wharf hotel. 5 guests per room may exceed the occupancy limit for rooms at this hotel.

Hilton South Wharf. Other places I've stayed with entire clan in tow are Somerset Gordon Place and Apartments @ Docklands.
Loved the HSW the most ( but is the smallest of the options).

Perfect Princess Fiona, Stayed on Elizabeth before (prior to clan) but never knew there was a somerset on Little Bourke Street, (Gordon Heights / Place) well priced too which is always nice...

My god there's a helpful bunch here on AFF

Somerset Gordon Place is a good choice. An old renovated building with nice high ceilings and convenient to Chinatown for takeout. Also easy walk to Woolies for groceries ( gotta love those EDR cards ;) )

Quay West Apartments but pricey and pricey breckie,

or private service apartments.
28 Southgate apartments.

have rented their 2bedroom apartments for the F1 the last 4 years, all very successful

Made a booking for the Somerset Gordon Place since the booking engine makes a booking for 2 + 3 pax easy... Thanks for all the recommendations & suggestions from all above.

I'm sure the accommodation at Gordon Place will be nice Princess Fiona, just hope the rest of the clan is well behaved... Been a while since I had the clan in tow on a road trip... not 100% sure I'm looking forward to it lol

Our family of 5 always stays at Medina Grand. 2 br apartments have big living area. Ask for an upper floor- on several occasions have been upgraded to penthouse at top.

The Westin Melbourne - huge connecting rooms, fab location, service etc.

Don't do breakfast - within 3 mins walk you have a plethora of Melbourne's best to enjoy.

Handy to know all these places family friendly for more than the standard family of 2 + 2

Its hard enough booking for 2 + 3...Makes me wonder what really big families do such as 2 + 4 & 2 + 5 etc.

You could try one of the apartment group such as Medina two bedrooms often cheaper than hotels. Several around South Yarra - a quick tram ride to the CBD
and plenty cafes etc.

Have you tried Room For 5 (google "room for 5")? They have hotels listed that can sleep a family of 5 or more without the need to pay for two separate rooms. To find them in Australia, click on the other countries link.
