I thought I saw the JT 707 parked at SYD when taking the bus from INT to DOM on Saturday morning after arriving back from NRT on QF22. Wasn't sure if that was really it but thought I recognised it from the pics I've seen of it before.

I happen to live about 5 mins from Royal Melbourne Golf Course where the Presidents cup has been on. Yesterday morning while at hanging out the washing I heard a large plane fly overhead and looked up to see what I'm pretty sure was that same plane flying directly overhead!

A quick Google shows he visited the Golf over the weekend so I'm thinking that probably was him. Does anyone know if he flew his plane down to MEL for the golf over the weekend. And if so, where would he have landed it? Moorabbin airport? It was pretty low when going over my place so must have been taking off or landing fairly close by.

Cheers

Timmi

I saw it at MEL late yesterday afternoon (around 1615) parked in front of some large buildings (maintenance?) next to an A380 - whilst both have four engines there is a rather dramatic size difference - south of the terminals when my DJ flight from ADL was taxiing to the terminal. Wasn't able to get a snap of it. There are at least one or two on this forum who actually had a ~2 hour flight in and out of SYD on it last week, with JT occupying the left hand seat up front.

Also, as I got the off-airport carpark shuttle to MEL on Saturday morning the driver pointed out Tiger Woods' plane parked near some building, and what he alleged to be the 787 (it was a little distant, but the colourings and size looked roughly right) which looked like it was sitting way out on its own down South of the terminal somewhere. Perhaps it was preparing to leave?

So Melbourne gets a visit by JT while BNE gets Benny Hinn in his private G4, sounds fair.......

Is the 787 still in town? I saw it at T2 (was connected to one of the gates) on Thursday evening but thought it was flying out before the weekend.

707 flew into Mel around 10 on Sat. Was still parked there later in the day.

According the AusBT article here it was due to fly out of MEL at 0930 Saturday morning - it (or allegedly it), was pointed out to me around 0720, so I'm guessing it was the real thing.

The 787 Dreamliner is expected to arrive at Melbourne Airport around 10am this morning, Thursday November 17th.

After spending two days at the airport, and most of that time ensconced in a hanger (as was the case with its Sydney appearance), the 787 will fly out around 9.30am on Saturday November 19th to head home to Seattle.

The 787 got home on Saturday, I remember a tweet say as such! What a wicked job it would be flying around on similar such tours as part of the crew!
