What was wrong at SYD last night? The pilot told pax that just one runway was in use. Turned out to be 07-25. We had 8 aircrafts ahead of us and in between there were arrivals. My QantasLink flight was delayed 60 minutes.
 
Whilst I don't know the reason why exactly, there was a fair bit of weather in the SE AU area... I saw some very big storm cells come over the BOM radar last night.

Sydney was fine but the weather was not:

YSSY 290830Z 04023G33KT 9999 FEW008 BKN250 23/20 Q1012

Thats a weather report at 7.30PM last night that shows wind gusting up to 33KT or 62kmh near gale force on the beaufort wind scale. So only RWY 25 was being used as R34 would have had excessive crosswind. From an ATC point of view RWY 07/25 has limited taxiways for getting aircraft onto and off the runway, making it the less efficient of all three runways at SYD.
