Anyone else get this? I've got a few months left in my membership year and am a bit short of re-qualifying for Platinum. Got a double SC's offer which lasts 3 months, but only for new bookings (I have quite a few bookings in that period, but pre-existing ones).

I can cancel and re-book some. Hmm, wonder if it includes the free flight (which I've already booked)?

Cheers,
- Febs.

I expected one of these to come through about now based on the usual pattern. Had been hoping to be included this time after missing out in June and on the HKG deal, both of which would have been perfect.

Seems the vulture bait is being withheld from some and dished out to others again. Oh well.

If anyone else is curious - the free flights can be changed, but not cancelled and re-booked. So no joy there. D'oh, there goes 40 SCs. :(

Oh well, I have a few others to change. It is a bit inefficient (not just for me - also for QF staff) to have to re-book flights though...

I'm actually holding off a bunch, hoping for a double SC offer ;)

I'm two NAN J runs away from Platinum. Tossing up weather to do it or not (before March 1st) - if I got the double SC, I'd do it!

Febs, are you saying that you received a double status credit offer?

If so is it the Hong Kong only offer? Or a more general offer you received?

Not I, but I've already well and truly requal'd for WP for this membership year (finishes end of March). That's probably the factor.
Would have possibly given me a chop at WP1, but I doubt it.

Of course more SC's would always be nice to go towards LTG.

Didn't get the June one (there was one in June?) or the HKG offer. I must be on the outer.

I'd love a double SCs offer so I can qualify for Gold. I need 310scs before the end for April with only 20scs worth of travel booked at present.

Another double SC promo by QF, and another one I am not part of the target group.
Would have been a nice start to my aim to retain self funded WP. :(

I've been lucky this is my 2nd double status points offer in 6 months, lucky too have business trio to Hong Kong April next, so gold again for anther year,

I got a 50% bonus SC offer today. With 140 points needed by end of February and very little to no travel planned, does not look good for me retaining Gold. That will now be a straight drop from WP to SG to Silver :(

Offer expires: 18 Mar 2025

- Earn up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points*
- Enjoy an annual $450 Qantas travel credit
- Don't forget the two complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations and two visits to the Amex Centurion Lounges in Melbourne and Sydney.

At least you got something!

For me, this random and inconsistent splurging on some members but not others (and I include the very rare times I've been lucky enough to be included as well) is probably the single most annoying thing about QFF - at least VFF had some clear-cut and transparent criteria applied to their offer (which they rolled out to everyone in the end anyway). I don't even mind the spotty award availability in comparison to this.

It's funny how we tend to personalise these things like there is someone at Qantas who is individually rewarding or victimising individual members. We are all just tiny specks of dust in the giant Qantas universe my friends. I have never had a single worthwhile offer from QFF (that I can remember) AJ no more cares about you or me than he cares about a broken seat or a lost piece of luggage or the boring food in the Qantas club or a surly flight attendant.

So given that; what do we do as consumers? We buy what makes us feel happy. We buy what we feel gives us value for money. We buy a product where we think our patronage is genuinely appreciated. We don't like to feel like we are just a speck of dust because we are not, we are AFF'ers:D

Now, to personalise the matter, over the past year or so it has become quite clear to me that one airline really wants my business and that one thinks I am a speck of dust.

This morning I will be booking 2 trips. They will both be with Virgin.

We are all just tiny specks of dust in the giant Qantas universe my friends.

Ironically, I have felt more like a speck of dust to QF since I became WP than I ever felt in years of being SG. I won't be going out of my way to requalify for WP, double SCs or not.

In terms of the whole 'specks of dust' analogy, we are all insignificant as individuals to both Virgin and Qantas - it is after all, a numbers game. The passenger experience just depends on how well they hide that, and give the illusion that each status pax is special. To me, Qantas is like a husband who has gotten a little complacent, Virgin is like a hot new guy on the scene. Virgin wants to take me home, but after the deed is done, will he still love me in the morning? The main benefit of having Virgin around is that Qantas is making a more of an effort.

Jokes aside, I didn't get the Double SCs thing - but don't feel too ripped off as I did get the double SCs for HKG and have a free return flight voucher to use. Thanks QF, we're still in a committed relationship :D

Other than the HKG double SC offer, would someone who received recent double/bonus status credits offer(s), like to post a cut-and-paste of the actual offer that they received, so as we all know what they are talking about, please?
